Jun. 2nd, 2022 06:27 pm Two more exams down! Only two to go (and they are a week away) so I'm going to be rewarding myself with some relaxing TV time!
Today on the way home I stopped and bought my tickets for a local anime con in July! I can't wait to go to my first con since covid started :D (Additionally since I'm now over 18 I can attend the night events! I bought a ticket for the games night but i'm skipping the after party since i doubt it'll be my scene)
I'm so tired after today so I can't wait to just relax and maybe rewatch Peacemaker for the third time! :D
But I also have a pile of books and comics to check out? Hm so many choices and so little free time! XD

Jun. 1st, 2022 09:17 pm Four exams down and four more to go! :D
Today I had my written Literature in English exam! I crammed most of my research the night before so I was super nervous going in but I think it turned out ok! (I'm just going for a pass here not the top score) XD
Tomorrow I have two more exams so right now I'm having an informal virtual study/revision group with my classmates! Sociological theories are making my brain melt. I'm really looking forward to being done with all this! :(
I can't believe I'm already at the halfway point now it seems like it just started yesterday!
Oh also it's the first of June so, Happy Pride!!

May. 29th, 2022 07:45 pm As my time as a student wraps up I'm starting to think about what the fuck i'm going to do after.
Well aside from desperately applying to get a job asap. XD
There's so many things that I've been putting off for after graduation because I simply didn't have the time or energy for them... and soon I'll have to actually try to do them! :0
I won't be done with school until the end of June but I like being able to pre-plan stuff well in advance so here's a non-comprehensive list of stuff I want to do after June!
There's definitely more and I have no idea if i'll actually get around to everything on this list but I'm excited to get some of it done! :D

- Resume learning German
- Work on more art that is just for fun rather than for school
- Hang out with my friends again (Places are now fully open again for the first time since covid started so there's so much we could do!!!)
- Go out drinking! (I'm over 18 now and bars have re-opened so I wanna try it. Though I don't think i'll like it XD )
- Finally crochet again! :D
- Go to a convention again! (There's one in July!) :D
- Read actual books again (I have so many books sitting on my shelf waiting for me to start/finish them)
- Work on stuff for the artist alley table I'm sharing at the convention in July (It's gonna be my first time trying to sell my art!)
- Finally learn some coding
There's definitely more and I have no idea if i'll actually get around to everything on this list but I'm excited to get some of it done! :D
I Just Realized
May. 29th, 2022 07:28 pm So a lot of people love Binaural audio or 8D music (including a few of my friends) and in general it seems to be something the neurodivergent people find nice stimmy.
However I absolutely hate it. It make me feel weirdly anxious in a way i could never really place. I find the concept fun and when I was younger I used to enjoy it, so I could never really explain why i hate it now.
But I just realized why it upsets me to listen to it!
Over the years I'm intermittently lost hearing in one of my ears (mostly due to simple stuff like an ear infection or wax buildup) but whenever it's happened I've gone through like a day or two of irrational paranoia that it was going to be permanent.
The most recent time it happened was during my birthday, and since I went on a weekend trip with my friends I couldn't go to the hospital for a few days.
Meaning I spent about 5 or 6 days freaking out that I was going to permanently lose hearing in that ear (I have really bad anxiety about having medical problems that might impact my life in the long term)
So now when i listen to binaural audio it subconsciously reminds me of that experience!

What I'm Watching
Apr. 16th, 2022 03:59 pmSo I just finished binge watching 911: Lone Star and then the original 911 both of which were great! (though I definitely preferred lone star)
But now I'm in need of a new show for background noise as I work on my art homework. I'm kinda feeling the (non-police) procedural format of 911 so I might try a medical one next?
It almost feels sacrilegious to a younger/teenaged me to be getting really into non magic/scifi shows but there's something really appealing about them as i'm getting older that I just can't describe!
I don't think I'm gonna like med shows as much as 911 and 911: lone star but at least it'll be something to watch! :D
For now I'll start with The Resident (mostly because it's not one i know much about and it kept coming up as an ad before 911 episodes lol)
(EDIT: After one episode of the resident i can tell that this show is uh... not for me! So I guess i'll have to keep looking for a good show to watch)

Daily Life Post
Apr. 4th, 2022 10:09 pmToday was mostly spent working on my art assignments for school. I've been pretty stressed over them for a long time but I think I'm finally making some headway!
I have five painting to produce (on an extremely short time frame.... whoops!) Each one will be a fandom-ish parody of a famous piece of art (something my advisor thinks is an extremely original idea, and I won't be correcting her!)
I've decided on 3/5 of the paintings so far:
1) An Ineffable Husbands version of The Kiss by Gustav Klimt
2) A Mandalorian version of Girl with a Pearl Earring (Mando with Beskar Armor!) Which is definitely my favorite so far! :D
3) And finally a very unoriginal one: A Van Gogh style painting of the Tardis (don't tell my tutor that I'm just stealing the idea from an actual Doctor Who episode!)
And I'm considering doing a Art Noueau inspired one with Fearne (from CR campaign 3)! Though I'm not quite sure about it yet?
For my fifth painting I want to base it on something that's not of a typically European style (preferably something post-colonial or African to please my examiners) But I'm having trouble finding something recognizable enough to fit the idea! D:
Of course that doesn't really matter that much as long as I can justify it in my analysis I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also started watching The Gilded Age. I like it so far (though I haven't really been paying enough attention to properly follow the plots) The characters are fun and the underhanded bitchiness of all the interactions between the rich are absolutely my kinda thing! And the costumes ARE GORGEOUS!!! (or at least the dresses are. The men's wear are all kinda boring and same-ish to be honest)
For some reason the aunts really remind me of Chuck's aunts in Pushing Daisies? Which is definitely a plus for me since that's one of my favorite shows!
